I have been watching people on YouTube use embossing paste for quite some time, but it terrified me. It looks simple enough, but I just KNEW I would make a mess that I couldn't clean up. I've literally had some Ranger Texture Paste for several months, just sitting in a drawer, lonely, in my craft room. Then I watched more videos and bought other kinds of embossing paste. Then Michael's had a sale on all the Heidi Swapp products, including her texture paste, so I bought every color they had, which luckily for my wallet was only 4. So, I couldn't reasonably put it off any longer. And boy did I make a mess! (Quick cleaning tip is to use a kitchen scrubber, like you would use on a potato, to get the dried embossing paste off of your stencil.)
I was just playing around with a couple of the embossing pastes and stencils that I have. Stencils that now have a home and are organized, by the way! Woo-hoo me! I was productive tonight! Anyway, back to the card. I was just playing around and made 2 different backgrounds, without the intention of pairing them. But then they were sitting there drying side by side, screaming at me to make them one. When your craft products scream at you, you have to listen, so here it is.
Look at that shine!
The top portion is a SSS Tiny Spaced Hearts stencil and the embossing paste was the Viva Modellier Creme in Mother of Pearl mixed with the SSS Doll Pink ink. The bottom portion though, is where it's at! It is the Heidi Swapp Square Lattice stencil with Heidi Swapp Metallic Texture Paste in Silver. (I can't find this anywhere online, but I got it Michaels.) This paste is so shiny and amazing. I just fell in love. To finish the card, I used the Paper Smooches Thanks Word 2 die and some random sequins.
I do believe I see more embossing paste in my near future! Thanks for visiting!
